THE FRIENDS OF PROSPECT LIBRARY - ADELAIDE
The Friends of Prospect Library was formed around 1990 to support the public library run by the City of Prospect in South Australia.
Over the years our activities have changed but have included fundraising, author talks, public events, volunteering in the library and community consultation.
The lease on the current building expires in 2019 and Prospect Council have built a new facility at 128 Prospect Rd, Prospect.
The new Library and Civic Centre is now open and is known as Payinthi.
In 2019 we took a breather from normal activities while we researched the role of Library Friends’ organisations in the changing environment of public libraries.
We hope to hold a community forum to explore our ideas around February or March 2020.
We’ll then make decisions about our future.
